This is a very useful device - simple but effective.

There is a blade cover that protects both the blade and the user when not in use.

It takes a 48mm disposable blade and has many uses:

as a scraper to remove paint, labels, films, etc.
as a draw scraper to smooth surfaces (just put a small hook on the blade edge by rubbing it along a hard metal surface)
as a holder for dressing or rehoning a disposable blade
as a chisel either bevel up or down for trimming

As a tip we often fit used plane blades when using it as a scraper (not sharp enough to plane with, but still sharp enough for scraping).
